Shouldn’t they be adding the two together, rather than subtracting?
These flights are delayed, but most will still fly home.
The ones that don’t will use other transportation, which emits carbon, so the volcano didn’t “save” CO2 from being emitted, merely time shifted it.
Maybe so. Good point. I think the point was a bit more illustrative than descriptive. Fact is, there’s a lot of CO2 pollution in airline travel.
